ziemlich still ist es um den modedesigner matthew ames in den letzten jahren geworden. und zwar so still, dass ich mich immer wieder gefragt habe, ob er dem modebusiness wohl endgültig adieu gesagt hat. nun ist er vor kurzem mit ein paar stücken für weekday wieder aufgetaucht und erklärt in einem interview, warum er in den letzten zwei jahren new york den rücken gekehrt hat - aber auch, dass er sein eigenes ding zu machen gewillt ist:
I think there’s this feeling in fashion that you can’t ever stop. Once
you stop it’s all over. I don’t care about that. I think you can make
your own path, especially in today’s world with the new technology. The
way fashion is consumed now, people couldn’t care less about the
seasons. It’s just for the retailers and the press.
finde ich gut, einen eigenen weg zu finden, mit diesem mode-irrsinn umzugehen.
